Title: Administrative and Volunteer Coordinator
Reports to: Program Director
Hours: 20-25 hours per week
Location: Hybrid, must be located in San Diego County
POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative and Volunteer Coordinator is a key member of the HandsOn San Diego team. HandsOn San Diego, fiscally sponsored by Mission Edge, is a volunteer-powered organization that creates opportunities for people to volunteer and lead in their communities. In this role, the successful candidate will provide high quality customer service and technical support to volunteers and nonprofit partners, oversee the volunteer opportunity calendar, and support with promoting volunteer opportunities through our email newsletter.
KEY DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Duties
Answers volunteer and nonprofit partner correspondence and inquiries via email and/or phone, providing a high level of customer service
Provides technical support with volunteer accounts as needed and responds promptly to volunteer inquiries
Manages and oversees the Volunteer Opportunity Calendar to ensure accurate and updated information
Reviews, edits, and approves new volunteer opportunity submissions
Creates and sends out weekly email newsletters via Constant Contact to promote volunteer opportunities
Certifies volunteers hours for the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program
Provides reports on volunteer metrics as needed
Attends volunteer events on-site as needed
Other duties as assigned

Serve as an ambassador for HandsOn San Diego in the community
Support the fundraising efforts of HandsOn San Diego
Support and lead HandsOn San Diego events and service projects, as needed
Required Qualifications
1-2 years experience with nonprofits or volunteer organizations strongly preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with Salesforce and/or Google Drive preferred
Comfortable working with databases and learning new software
Ability to sort and compartmentalize files, items, and ideas
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Work with a high level of integrity and transparency
Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers and the overall community
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and Advisory Board members as needed

The hourly rate for this part-time position is $21 to $23.
