Job Title: Gas TechnicianJob Description
Work on projects related to landfill gas collection and control systems. Monitor and maintain gas extraction systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and prevent the release of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
Responsibilities
+ Identify and locate gas leaks in pipelines and systems to ensure safety and system integrity.
+ Maintain and repair gas pipelines to prevent leaks and ensure efficient operation.
+ Conduct pressure tests on gas systems to check for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
+ Use gas analyzers to measure and monitor gas concentrations.
+ Repair and maintain gas valves to ensure they operate correctly.
+ Operate and manage Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for monitoring and controlling gas systems.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in identifying and locating gas leaks.
+ Knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly involving gas furnaces, boilers, and water heaters.
+ Experience in pipeline maintenance and repairs.
+ Understanding of safety compliance and regulations.
+ Ability to conduct pressure testing on gas systems.
+ Skills in gas analysis using gas analyzers.
+ Familiarity with SCADA systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Mechanical aptitude.
+ Experience with methane and landfill gas systems.
+ Proficiency in using GEM 5000 and Envision Analyzer.
+ Data entry and environmental testing experience.
+ HVAC maintenance expertise.
Work Environment
The role involves working outside 50-60% of the time, with data entry and uploading tasks at the end of the day. The team consists of 8 technicians working in pairs for system monitoring. Dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans, and PPE provided by the client. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
